Laughter Realty has been in the real estate brokerage business since February 1990. Elizabeth Laughter, President and Principal Broker, owns 100% of the company stock. Kimberly Laughter-Foley is the Sales Manager and Secretary/Treasurer.
The Corporation bought a 4800 sq ft building in January 1995, which we currently occupy. Our current staff consists of 8 sales agents, a secretary, in-house credit counselor, and IT specialist. Our office is fully equipped with eight computers, four digital cameras, a 360º lens for online virtual tours, high-speed Internet, scanner/fax/copier, and a company website.
Our total sales volume is approximately $15 million-$17 million annually with gross commissions of $500K-$600K. We are members of the West Memphis Board of Realtors, Arkansas Realtors Association, and the National Realtors Association.
We consider ourselves “pioneers” in our industry when it comes to all phases of real estate, including financing, credit counseling, promoting homeownership, and the settling of HUD and VA properties.
Although we do have farm and commercial agents in our office, over 90% of our sales are residential properties, with an average sales price of $76K. Although our overall sales volume is not the highest, we take pride in the fact that we sell more units per year than any brokerage in Crittenden County, AR. We cater to lower-income and first time home-buyers by staying current on all grants, government and public assistance programs available. We benefit excellent reputation with many banks, mortgage companies, attorneys, and other financial institutions.
Members of our sales team and staff are active on many committees and charities, on the local, state, and national levels including Special Olympics, 8th Street Mission, the Good Neighbor Center of West Memphis and Habitat for Humanity.
Laughter Realty takes much pride in the fact that we consistently sell more HUD properties than any other real estate company in Crittenden County, AR. We stress and teach Fair Housing Laws on a monthly basis and each agent is required to sign, acknowledge and document each class that is given. In 2002, First Preston Management chose us to serve as HUD BLB in 13 counties in AR. From 2005-2008, under Cityside Management, we served as BLB in 9 counties in AR while receiving no compensation. We are committed to promoting HUD properties and the “American Dream” of home ownership.
